| | | INSURANCE | What You Should Know about Insurance When contracting with any tree service, the very first question you should ask is, "Do you have general liability insurance and workers comp?"
Arbormax has $2,000,000 in liability insurance and workers comp for our employees. The liability insurance is for the protection of your home and property. Any damage that occurs directly or indirectly as a result of the tree removal will be covered. Most policies include personal injury. Personal injury does not cover any person employed by the company. This is where the workers compensation comes into play. It covers any injury, disease, or death that occurs. It relieves the property owner of any liability of injury, disease, or death.
If a contractor does not have liability insurance and damages your property, it could be almost impossible to be compensated for your damage. Think about it. If they cannot afford the insurance, they definitely can't afford to fix your house if they drop a tree on it. The same is true for workers' comp, with an added bonus. If someone gets hurt on your property, they can and probably will sue you. As unfair as this may seem, it happens.
Occasionally, it is necessary to use a crane to assist in the removal process. Dangerous, larger-than-average, or inaccessible limbs and trees would warrant the use of a crane when over structures, power lines, or other obstacles.
